Narrative Description of Project:

Description of Project: The Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project will be the largest bridge in the Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna river basins and a very challenging construction project. It will be located approximately 40km southwest of Dhaka and will connect the southwestern region to the rest of Bangladesh to facilitate economic growth through the transport of people, goods, natural gas, and telecommunications. In addition to the construction of the bridge itself, there will be an elaborate system of associated road constructions including two toll plazas and bridge end facilities, a 13.6km-long, four-lane, dual carriageway approach road, culverts, small bridges, underpasses, service roads and service areas for residential accommodation. Complex river bank protection/training works 14km long will also be constructed. PEC-TELETELL will provide project management of the entire scheme including contractual and commercial advice; engineering and technical support and advice; budgetary and financial management; quality control and assurance; advice on dispute settlement; and the implementation of the social safeguard plans (environment, resettlement). The company will also be responsible for BBA staff and designing a program for the social-economic aspects of the project.

  • Estimating & preparatory survey.
  • Construction supervision & management.
  • Technical consultancy for construction site supervision.
  • Construction site report preparation.
  • Readiness testing activities like pile load race etc.
  • Estimating & preparatory surveys for various types of projects like highways transportation, bridges roads, etc.
  • Basic design (when our civil engineers carry out metalworking calculations) building reinforced concrete precast details etc.
  • Preliminary survey with stability test -site study for earthwork piling foundation piling, etc.
  • Review and validate the previously drafted detailed design.
  • In order to facilitate the existing use of the land ports during the construction period, modify the Work
  • Schedule, Mobilization Plan, Material Procurement Schedule, and Manning Schedule proposed by the contractors. Scrutinize and approve the contractors’ detailed work program including the resource planning.
  • Check the Performance Guarantee, Advance Payment Guarantee, and insurance certificates submitted by the contractors for adequacy as well as ensure their timely renewal up to the duration required.
